Abolish Slavery!

What is the "Abolish Slavery! Day of Action"?

Play: Abolish Slavery!

The International Day for the Abolition of Slavery is held on 2 December each year. This year, World Vision’s Don’t Trade Lives campaign is recognising this historically significant day by holding a Day of Action in schools and communities across the country*. Show your support - join us in telling Australia "Don’t Trade Lives!"

Get Involved!

Here are some ways that you can participate in the 2 December Abolish Slavery! Day of Action:

  1. Show a Film on Human Trafficking - Show a clip or screen a feature film on human trafficking to your school, local community or friends. For suggestions on movies that range from 2 minutes to 2 hours, click here.
  2. Hold a casual day – Wear purple and make a colour splash! Purple is the colour of the Don’t Trade Lives campaign.
  3. Invite a speaker – Invite a speaker from World Vision to speak at your school.
  4. More actions are coming - watch this space!

* Many churches will recognise this day by holding an "Abolitionist Sunday" on Sunday, 23 November. Email the Church Relations team for a Church Action Kit or more information,
